Ghanaian comedian DKB has been announced as the host of this year’s Radio and Television Personality Awards, the fifth year of the award show.
He was chosen by the organisers because of his ability to command an audience, and because of his particular talent for creating jokes out of virtually any political or social current affair.
The organisers plan to make this year’s show an all-Ghanaian act, from hosting to musical performances.
For prizes, winners in some top categories will be awarded an all-expense-paid trip to Dubai.
Those categories include Radio & Television Personality of the Year, Television Morning Show Host of the Year and the Radio Morning Show Host of the Year.
In addition to the trip, there will be other prizes for those who win. One of the sponsors of the show, Williams Grant & Sons, producers of the popular Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky, will award some of the winners with their expensive products. They will award this year’s Hall of Fame, which includes Kwami Sefa Kayi, Rev. Yaw Owusu Ansah and Mrs. Oppong Apau.
The award show will take place on Saturday, October 10 at the Accra International Conference Center.
It’s sponsored by OS Petrol, First Digital Plus, Ideal Finance, Flight Center, Meridian Pre-University, Capital 02, Glenfiddich, Food Giant Company, Special Ice, Holiday Inn, Alisa Hotel, Deluxy Paint, Hooch Cornflakes, Tour Ghana, and Fizzles.
