The President took to Twitter to express his sorrow over the deaths of dozens of people in the Kintampo-Tamale road accident.

The accident occurred around 8:00 pm Wednesday when a Metro Mass Transit bus heading toward Accra from Ouagadougou collided head-on with a cargo truck. 53 people died, and another 23 sustained various degrees of injury.
Police say the MMT bus had brake problems.
President Mahama said it was “very sad news.” He noted that emergency services were still working to attend to the injured.
