“This is one crime that is impossible to explain. The motive is lost to almost everybody. All we know is that it has terminated the life of a promising man. A career has been cut short. Ghana is the loser.” — Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur
The vice president paid this tribute to JB Danquah, the Abuakwa North MP stabbed to death at his residence in Accra last week by an alleged thief.
The vice president joined family, friends and other dignitaries to mark the first week of Danquah’s passing. Opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, were also in attendance.
The police have in custody a 19-year-old who reportedly claimed responsibility for the murder.
