Manchester City goalee Willy Caballero played the hero, saving three penalties for his side to claim the Capital One Cup with a 1-1 (3-1) victory over Liverpool at Wembley.

  • 34-year-old Caballero rewarded the faith of his manager Manuel Pellegrini, who selected him ahead of Joe Hart, by making spectacular saves against Liverpoool’s Lucas, Coutinho and Lallana.
  •  Yaya Toure wrapped up the game with a winning penalty kick.
  •  Before that, Fernandinho put City ahead moments after the break, but two glaring misses from Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling opened the door for Coutinho’s late leveller.
