Service personnel to also benefit.” — NSS personnel demand pay increase.
“We think that if there is an increase in fuel and utility prices and other amenities, it’s right for service personnel to also benefit in that regard.” — NSS personnel
Following recent hikes in utilities, fuel prices and transport fares, National Service personnel are demanding a pay increase.
Members of the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) say the current allowances given them do not correspond to the cost of living in Ghana.
They want authorities at the National Service scheme to consider increasing the allowance which now stands at GH₵350.
Eastern Regional president of the NASPA, Ato Brown Oyemam, told Citi News he hopes their demands will be addressed in the soon to be read supplementary budget.
